Nor is kratom a drug. Not all kratom is an opiate. It is not synthetic to obtain kratom. Natural kratom is a safe herbal supplement used for energy, pain relief, sadness, and anxiety. It functions as a partial mu-opioid receptor agonist. Although it doesn’t contain opiates, kratom does attach to the same brain receptor locations. Exercise, coffee, chocolate, and even human breast milk all have similar effects on these receptor sites.
